This Train is about Gourock and my life experience here.

I ‘m a native of Ottawa, Ontario, but my home is now in Gourock, Scotland, with my wife Sharon and our baby Bruce.

I hope you enjoy the blog. Please feel free to leave comments: I like to know you’re there.

Just wanted to pass on my congratulations on an awesome blog site and also great choice in motorcycles…..been looking at a GTR for some time but cannot sever ties with current bike – Harley.
Your writing style is amazingly graphic and your riding principles and thoughts mirror my own – to a large extent , at least.
Again, great site and keep the site goin’.

Hi Michael! Thanks for the great feedback. It’s good to know people are reading (and enjoying) the blog. Keep coming back – there’s plenty more motorcycling coming up.

Great to see a nice blog from a fellow Gourockian 🙂 (I’m an ex-pat as well, although not from afar as Canada).

Glad to hear you like Goldfrapp. I got myself an iPhone 3G last year and I still think it’s my favourite gadget of all time. That’s a long love-affair with someone like me – I usually eat ipods & other gadgets for breakfast.

Anyway. I ramble. All the best.

hi , great blog came across it by chance , via mcn

    i,ve afz1 fazer , like you i,m a kawasaki man .

but made the jump across , an don,t regret it !

the high screen ( yamaha one ) is ok but the short one is better
a extra inch or two on the standard one an it would be prefect for me ( i,m 5ft 9 ” )

the rush from the enging once over 6000 rpm , is great i,m like a kid in a sweet shop !

to think nearly 30 yrs of riding an finenally the perfect bike !!

its so easy to speed an maintain it for miles , well at least 130miles before the fuel light comes on !

i,m going down the route like yourself of fairing , an luggage so it becomes more like a mini fjr 1300 .

wellgot done for speeding ! 105mph , actually 130mph but they saw i was slowing down !

so easy a bike to ride fast ! , my licence maybe under pressure again !

i,m like you in a way a scot in exile in england !

great writing style you,ve got , keep up the blog !

especially on the fz1 ( most people look at it an think , oh another bandit style bike ! )

if only they knew ! , rather than chase looks an speed .
    over practical , q-bike style !
